Anna Veronica Hartman was born in Mexico City from Hungarians parents.
Completed the classics studies in Budapest she moved to Italy and in 1963 she is admitted to the Central
Institute of Restoration in Rome (first at the tests). To the attainment of the diploma she begins
the activity of restorer for private and public agencies. Among jobs of greater engagement, carried out
for the Soperintendent, they can be remembered the restoration of the curtains of the vanvitelliano
Theatre of the Reggia of Caserta, of the Theatre Verdi of Salerno,
works of Domenico Morelli, that one of the ceilings of the Library of the Certosa di San Lorenzo from
Padula (SA) and of the Church of S. Maria of Grazie of Sorrento (NA). Among the numerous jobs of
restoration of frescoes: the painted cycle of Michele Ricciardi in the Church of S. Maria of the Health
in S. Lucia di Serino (SA), the ceiling of the Church of S. Franciesco of Naro (AG), the ceilings of the
rooms of the Institute Pontano in Naples, the paintings of the Baptistry, the wallpaintings of
Luigi Ademollo in the Dome of Pietrasanta (LU) and the '500 wood ceilings of the Palace of the
Conservatori in Rome; the discovery of some important '300 frescoes in the
Church of S. Giovanni Battista by Cigoli (PI) and in the Church of S. Augustin in Pietrasanta.
In her laboratory she dedicates to the restoration of wood polichrome sculptures, paintings on canvas
and table. Among the restorations executed must be remembered S.Ansano di Jacopo della Quercia,
wood sculpture of the Church of S. Simone and Giuda of Lucca,
the Natività by Luca Cambiaso, oil on table of the Church of
the S S. Annunziata di Pontremoli (MS), the Ecstasy of S.Teresa di Pietro da Cortona, oil on canvas
of the Museum of Guinigi Villa of Lucca and the Madonna among Saints by Vincenzo Dandini, shovel of
altar of the Church of the Misericordia in Saint Miniato (PI).
